Meet Our Amazing Teachers
See What We've Been Learning About!
Weekly Homework Tasks
All children will have a Maths homework set that reflects what they have been learning in class that week. This could be understanding the value of numbers, addition or subtraction or recognising coins.
Spellings will be sent out weekly alongside the Maths and will be tested each Friday. These words are taken from the spelling expectations for Year 1.
Children will be sent home with words featured within their Read Write Inc books and these should be practised at home.
Alongside the weekly homework tasks there will also be the half termly homework projects which encourage children to be as creative as possible to find out information about their next topic.
Reading At Home
A reading record can be found in your child’s book bag. It should be completed at least 3 times per week (by an adult) to record reading at home.
Children can now access reading books online. The class teacher will have set up reading books online at each child's current book band. Login details will have been given to each child at the start of the year. Click on the image below to link to the bug club website.
