Weekly Homework Tasks
All children will have a Maths homework set that reflects what they have been learning in class that week. This could be understanding the value of numbers, addition or subtraction or recognising coins.
A phonic activity will also be sent out weekly to consolidate the sound of the week and to ensure children practise reading real and alien words at home.
Children will be sent home with green and red words featured within their Read Write Inc books and these should be practised at home.
Alongside the weekly homework tasks there will also be the half termly homework projects which encourage children to be as creative as possible to find out information about their next topic.
Reading At Home
A reading record can be found in your child’s book bag. It should be completed at least 3 times per week (by an adult) to record reading at home.
As reading is so important in your child's early education, we reccomend that all children and parents sign up for a free reading account on Oxford Owl.
The website provides you with access to many online e-books that your child can read for enjoyment at home.
