Homework Information
Weekly Homework tasks
Homework this year will be all provided on our online platform Seesaw. Each child will be given a unique passcode or QR code to scan. This will allow them to access weekly (differentiated) homework provided by their teachers.
Each week your child will be set homework in the following areas:
- Phonics activity linked to the sounds learning in school.
- Maths activity linking to the skill learning in school.
During half term holidays your child will also be set a homework project by their class teacher linking to their new topic. This is your opportunity to get creative at home! We love to show these wonderful projects in class and display these in our classrooms.
In EYFS we also set a homework sheet with activies covering many areas of learning to complete with your child at your own pace throught the Autumn term:
Reading at Home:
Children are encouraged to practise applying their sounds to read as frequently as possible at home. Lots of practise will result in your child developing confidence to segment and blend the sounds to read simple words and in time apply these to read simple story books.
A reading record can be found in your child’s book bag. It should be completed by an adult to record reading at home.
Your child will be sent home with phonic packs or sound blending books which directly match to the sounds that your child knows.
Reading Online:
As reading is so important in your child's early education, we reccomend that all children and parents sign up for a free reading account on Oxford Owl.
The website provides you with access to many online e-books that your child can read for enjoyment at home.

If you have a favourite story that you like to read you may also find these read aloud by the author on this website.
Home Learning
In the event of your child self-isolating, all learning will be provided to continue your child's education on our online platform Seesaw. Each child has been given a unique passcode or QR code to scan. This will allow them to access activities provided by their teachers.
